I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC in Colorado, LPCA in South Carolina) with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported, just as you are. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready to explore what’s next, we’ll work together in a way that centers your values, voice, and sense of agency. I draw from a variety of approaches based on what fits you best, and we’ll move at a pace that respects your needs- whether we’re focusing on the present, making space for the past, or imagining the future. I’m especially drawn to work that explores how early experiences shape who we are and how we relate to the world. Many of the people I work with are carrying the weight of developmental or complex trauma- wounds that can be hard to name but show up in powerful ways over time. Together, we’ll gently untangle those patterns and work toward greater clarity, connection, and healing. As an adoption-competent, adoptee-centric provider, I bring both lived and professional experience working with all members of the adoption constellation. I have a special interest in supporting individuals navigating adoption-related experiences, identity questions, anxiety, and the layered grief that can accompany growth.

As a trauma-informed therapist specializing in PTSD, I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and empowering space for healing. I honor the courage it takes to step into therapy and engage in the inner work. Life’s challenges can leave us feeling anxious, depressed, and uncertain—sometimes even questioning the direction of our lives. I understand how overwhelming and isolating that can be. My approach is to walk alongside you with compassion and curiosity, helping you gain clarity, reconnect with your values, and rediscover a sense of meaning in your life. With a blend of authenticity, life experience, and a sense of humor, I strive to create a welcoming and grounded environment where real change can occur. I focus on helping individuals reconnect with themselves, build emotional resilience, and find clarity and strength in who they are. I bring a culturally inclusive perspective to every session and tailor the therapeutic process to meet each client’s needs and goals. I’m honored and humbled to be part of this work, and I look forward to supporting you on your mental health journey with compassion, insight, and wholehearted care. My training and experience include a Master's of Arts in Clinical Mental Health, over three decades of service in education as a principal and teacher, a Master’s and Bachelor’s in special education, certification as an Emotional Freedom Coach, and certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, as well as CAMS Certified (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality). There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. ~Albert Einstein

Hello, I’m Sarah, and I am a Mental Health Therapist providing clinical counseling to individuals with various mental health-related concerns. I have worked in the mental health field since 2017 and primarily have experience with marriage and family counseling, individual counseling, crisis assessment and intervention, and school and community-based mental health services. I graduated with my Master’s in Counseling from Cairn University, and some of my clinical interests include grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and trauma. As a clinician, I aim to create a nurturing, supportive, and trauma-informed space for my clients to heal through an approach that best fits their needs, goals, and concerns. In my experience, therapy is a joint venture between client and therapist where our knowledge and skills are combined to find the best solutions built on the foundation of trust, compassion, and safety. Outside of the counseling office, I enjoy reading, trying new foods, watching movies, and going on walks with my husband.

While therapy can feel intimidating or uncomfortable, it is my priority to create a safe environment where clients can feel authentically themselves. I approach the therapeutic process as walking alongside you as we work toward the areas you feel are most important to you. Once upon a time, a military medic took a moment to listen to the story of a soldier who was suffering somatically from the sheer amount of distress they felt. That medic found her "Ah-ha" and pursued further education within the mental health field with unmatched passion. Your healing is something I aspire to work together with you to achieve. My areas of expertise include working with populations such as children, teens, and parents. I am capable of addressing difficult and complex traumas by utilizing a trauma-informed approach. I strive for every patient encounter to leave you feeling appreciated as a human being and heard. I follow a person-centered approach while integrating other modalities as needed, including play therapy techniques.
