Dr. Flores is a doctoral level counselor, ordained minister, and Christian-based author residing in southern California. Her professional career has consisted of extensive psychoanalytic training in both the United States and Europe. She obtained a doctoral degree in applied clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles, California and trained in dream analysis and existentialism at Sigmund Freud University in Vienna, Austria. She has treated a vast and diverse population of individuals struggling with mental, emotional, and spiritual distress. Specific populations of clinical proficiency include children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), acutely psychotic adult men and women, impoverished individuals in a community mental health setting, adults diagnosed with HIV, adolescents and adults battling addiction, and those diagnosed with neurocognitive disorders. She worked briefly on Maui in the school districts and returned to the mainland to push boundaries in forensics. Specifically, she performed competency evaluations for courts in Bakersfield, California in cases of adult males deemed incompetent to stand trial. From there, Dr. Flores began treating men and women convicted of sexual offenses before ultimately embracing her roots in pastoral counseling, which has become her sole modality of providing counseling.
