- Speak to them about what a healthy relationship looks like. 

Let them know that a good and healthy relationship does not look like what they have witnessed. 

Give examples of what healthy relationships are and what they look like. 

By doing this, when they get to the age that they start dating, they will know what a healthy, loving and nurturing relationship with another person looks like. 

- Ease their fears. Many children take on that burden of holding onto the domestic violence and somehow thinking it was their fault, which is the furthest thing from the truth.
