Choosing to come to counseling and sharing your feelings and struggles can often feel daunting and somewhat overwhelming.
As a clinician, I like to think there is great strength and taking that step to open yourself and begin to work through the things of life that tend to feel like "too much" or overwhelming in general. I often encourage everyone
I work to be patience with the process, recognizing that it is a process. Within that process, it does require active participation from the client, and at times with support from family and close friends.
My focus is to help you to be better equipped in dealing with life's uncertainties. We will work together to best establish what it is you want to focus on and learn to better understand yourself and your responses/reactions to life.
I am excited to embark on this journey with you and look forward to helping guide you to a healthier frame of mind and way of living.
I enjoy working with the pre-teen, teen, and young adult population as they are learning to navigate life in a world vastly different from the one in which I grew up in. It also gives me the opportunity to see the world through the eyes of this age group and better understand how some mental health and life in general struggles manifest for them. It's also a great opportunity to work with the family as a whole and help everyone navigate and better understand the perspective of one another. I have experience working with individuals and families in regard to strengthening and sometimes developing better social and coping skills. I have utilized different curriculum and activities to help individuals better understand how their own personal struggles manifest and the best way to learn to manage and work through them. It is a joy to see a young person's insight flourish and grow in the midst of having the safety and freedom to fully express themselves and work to better understand healthier ways to manage life and how it is ever-changing.
I want you to feel heard and supported.
