Jenny Flowers, MA, LPC

I am passionate about empowering individuals who have felt unseen, misunderstood, marginalized, and voiceless. I find joy in helping people gain a greater sense of self-worth and confidence, find meaning and purpose, and courageously tell their story. My goal as a therapist is to help you live a transformed, empowered life and find the courage to be your authentic self. I especially love to work with and empower women of all stages in life.

My unique and wide array of experiences have shaped my heart for helping hurting people find healing. Through my experiences as a Kindergarten-12th grade art teacher, advocate for survivors of human trafficking, and work at an orphanage in Ghana, West Africa, I have seen firsthand the transformative power of art in expressing pain. I eventually moved overseas to be an Art Director of a therapeutic art program for trafficked children and adolescents in Ghana. This has fostered my love and appreciation for diversity, sensitivity towards multicultural issues, and passion for expressive arts therapy in healing from trauma. As an artist, I enjoy incorporating creative expression in therapy because art can facilitate personal growth and healing from trauma, abuse, loss, and heartache.

I practice an authentic, attachment-based, client-centered approach in counseling and acknowledge your capacity to choose the direction, pace, and goals of therapy. I am honored to walk alongside you and believe in a strengths-based model to empower you to develop your own strengths and passions. My non-judgmental approach is based upon a genuine, empathetic, professional relationship with your goals in mind.

Ages

I enjoy working with adults (18+) that are navigating a variety of experiences, including, life transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, abuse, grief/loss, identity and self-esteem issues, stress, and women's issues.
