Below is a little about me if you want to know credentials, but what I think is most helpful to know is that I view therapy as a tool that allows me to help other people discover the truth about themselves and their life-systems. This is compassion-based, person-centered, eclectic therapy for real people with real-life issues. I look forward to the opportunity of helping you in the direction you want to go. You've already begun your journey by merely using your courage to reach out and ask. Congratulations!
My personal history of adoption, combined with my decade long experience in the Marine Corps as an Infantry Commander and Administrative Officer, has helped me develop a deep compassion for hurting individuals and families. After leaving the military, I earned my MA, LPC in Mental Health, and I began to focus on trauma and marriage therapy in 2008. I have served in pastoral counseling, prison therapy, clinical practice, and Wilderness therapy for families and adolescents for whom traditional therapy was not enough. I am currently a Ph.D. student in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Trauma care. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and am an EMDRIA trained EMDR Therapist. As a former non-denominational pastor, I am also happy to provide faith-based counseling if you so desire.
Outside of helping others, I am passionate about my wife and five children, and I enjoy spending time with them. In my free time, I enjoy participating in outdoor adventures, reading, writing, and filmmaking.
I have immediate openings for teletherapy (video or phone sessions) and would be honored to support you during this time of uncertainty.
